In 1991 Cecil and I decided that instead of replacing the Corgi we had just lost with another Corgi, we would look at another breed. After some thought we decided that we would get a Border Collie and that was how Trimel Coat of Colours CD ADM JD "Echo" a Tri-coloured bitch came into our lives and changed our lives forever.
When "Echo" was a little over 2 years old she had her first litter and my youngest son Andrew kept one of the only two bitches from this litter Cyrilann Aanuka Sunrise ADM JDX "Carey".
The next year we bred her again and produced our first coloured puppies. My oldest son Wayne kept the Red and White boy from that litter Cyrilann Noyamajick ADX JD "Rambo" but sadly we lost him in February 2002. Just before her 11th Birthday in June 2002 we also lost "Echo". Nevertheless we still have "Carey" and she can still show the young ones how Agility is done even though we have retired her.
We have tried the challenges of the Show Ring, Obedience and Tracking but it is in Agility that our Border Collies came into their own.
1998 saw me getting a blue bitch called Bordatec Indigo Princess JD. GD "Indy". She has gained some challenge points in the show ring but loves Agility better, lets hope she slows down and listens and we may get further.
Half-way through 2001 Wayne was able to get a Chocolate dog called Strathclyde Choc Chip AD JD "Chipp" so when he was old enough was off and trialling again.
2005 has seen us taking on the challenge that the Border Collies were bred for - Sheep Herding. August saw three of our Borders gaining passes in the Herding Instinct Certificate and as the year progressed another two have passed. We now have 5 dogs working sheep and all doing very well.
These are our Foundation pack and we are adding to our family of borders by introducing new lines or our own lines.
Wayne, Andrew and their partners, Cecil and I are all Members of the Border Collie Club of N.S.W. Inc which we support in various ways. We also belong to Agility Clubs and Herding Clubs.
